  If you are not actually dying, I would avoid this hospital at all costs. It will save you money and may save your life to go to Lexington or Winchester, instead. Of my two experiences with KRMC, one I was charged nearly $2000, after insurance, just for the 10 minutes I spent with the physician over stomach pain in the ER. The tests and medicine was fully covered so literally just his time to talk to me for 10 minutes is supposed to be worth that kind of money. This is one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, hospitals in the nation and the quality of care does not meet even basic standards. My grandmother was sent home after a stroke due to complete incompetence and could have suffered permanent damage. Luckily, we were wise enough to take her immediately to Lexington and ignore what the Jackson hospital said. Bottom line: The amount they charge should be criminal and the quality of care is deplorable. You will save a lot of money (and maybe your life) by going to any other hospital in Eastern KY.

  If I could put no stars, I would. The most incompetent staff and doctors work here. I truly have no idea how some of them graduated medical school. Do yourself the favor and go elsewhere.
